I was watching Julie and Julia, Julie made Chicken Breasts with Mushroom Cream Sauce and it looked delicious. Long story short, i found the recipe on this website http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/chicken-breasts-mushroom-cream-sauce-recipe-9333.
It was good but i need to correct few mistakes, less pepper, substitute black pepper with white pepper and use heavy cream not extra light cream.

Boursin Scrambled Eggs, a triumph
After yesterday's disaster, i had a small triumph that rekindled my passion ;)
I have bought a one month subscription in an online culinary school rouxbe.com. They are amazing, HD videos to teach you how to cut, cook and store your food done by professionals.
I got todays recipe from them, and OMG!! it was soo good, i felt am on a vacation and a 5 star hotel chief has made Boursin Scrambled Eggs just for me. (well, lets say 4 star hotel so i wont sound so cocky :p)
I did make some adjustment to better suit my taste/preference, i used a fat free oil spray with butter flavor instead of butter, Feta cheese instead of Boursin (cause i did not have any) and 1 whole egg with 1 egg white instead of 2 eggs.
The tip that i learned with this recipe video, is that you have to whisk eggs fast so air would get in and the result will be fluffy light eggs YUMM.
Enjoy the pics, i've enjoyed the dish ;P

Great dinner plan gone bad :(
Great healthy dinner plan, consisting of T-bone steak, whole grain steamed rice with italian tomato sauce and lettuce salad with lemon shallot vinaigrette, went really bad.
Well, lets not be so dramatic, it was 50-60% O.K. Dinner started to go wrong when I used the microwave oven to defrost the t-bone steak. Instead of defrosting the steak, it partially cooked it!!! and then i made it worst when i added a bit more than i should of coarse salt.
Cant complain about the rice (Alhamd lellah) it was good, i tried the advice my parents gave me to add more water to get it tender and moist and it did :)
and finally, the salad, the vinaigrette was really good but the lettuce was bitter, old and not that fresh. I did make half of the dressing recipe and that should cover me for 3 more salad servings.
The meal could be much better but it was edible LOL
p.s. camera battery wasn't charged = no photos

Deceptively Delicious pudding
I've seen Jessica on Operah and i was totally into the idea of adding more vegetables and vitamins in your food. Besides, i loved the pink theme the had in the studio.
I do not have kids and am not married but i would love to add more nutrition to my daily meals and make them more rich.
I thought i would start simple and i have a craving for sweets so i choose this recipe, and let me tell you, it was YUMM. It felt like i was eating chocolate with banana mash, but it was Avocado :)
Enjoy the pics, i've enjoyed the dish ;p

Overnight French Toast II
i found this recipe online and i totally loved it. I did not know that u can make french toast in the oven, let alone put it in the fridge over night to soak up all the yumminess in the ingredients.
My little niece is sleeping over and she helped me with this dish.
The recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Overnight-French-Toast-II/Detail.aspx
I used K.D.D skimmed milk, Nature Land organic honey instead of corn syrup and whole wheat bread from Bread Talk instead of french bread.
I was supposed to make enough for the whole family, but there was not enough brown sugar. I will be ready next week insahlah :)

Shepherd's pie, first try
I've always wanted to make Shepherd's pie since I’ve seen F.R.I.E.N.D.S, the episode where Rachel tried making an English trifle and ended up mixing the recipe with a shepherd's pie recipe. For some reason I thought it looked yummy :) and as Joey puts it "what's not to like?!"
The good news, the pie turned out great, al7amd lellah, next step is the English Trifle inshalah.
The recipe for the Shepherd’s pie: http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/shepherds-pie
The Mashed Potato: http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/everyday-mashed-potatoes
I hope you enjoy the pictures, I enjoyed the dish :)

Inspired by "Julie & Julia"
Am 30 years old and I have no skill or hobby at all, at least till last month. Now I got my new place, with a “Kitchen” and I started cooking my meals myself. Am just having a great time cooking, ruining meals and perfecting some of them :)
Is cooking a skill? Talent? Or a hobby? Am not sure, all I know is that I enjoy it and look forward to cook my next meal. I search online for recipes and sometimes I add my own modification to suit my taste.
I discovered that I have a taste for food and what should be added. For some reason, sometimes I look at a recipe and think “Naah, that’s too much of X, there is not enough Y, I don’t have A and will replace it with B”
My inspiration to blog came from one of my favorite movies "Julie & Julia", even thought that I won’t be doing hard dishes like the ones in the movie, at least not yet. AJ, my friend, encouraged me to start the blog since I do take pictures for every step, that’s after criticizing the quality and lighting of the pictures that I took with my Onyx cell phone. Chill AJ, next time I will use my 10.1 megapixel Sony camera I have laying around somewhere, if I find it LOL.
What is really great about cooking my own meals, is that I am trying to follow this book by Bethenny Frankel, titled “Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting”. It basically tells you to eat healthy food, not processed food or diet crabby food and to eat in moderation. My favorite rule from the book “ you can have it all, but not all at once”. And yeah, am actually listening to the audio book not reading it :) it is very interesting to hear the book read to you by the author, more convincing.
